Representing LGBTQ+ voices
LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0 is a celebratory collection of LGBTQ+ narratives that helps to move the negative overcoming-obstacles storylines out of the limelight. Normalizing the LGBTQ+ stories from folks who aren’t usually represented, depicting their joys and everyday experiences, is what makes this book different than any other collection.
Bisexual people, for example, make up 52% of the LGBTQ+ community but are 6 times more likely to hide their sexual orientation from friends/family than a gay or lesbian person. This work delves into some of the reasons why people who identify this way or as Ace, Trans, Nonbinary, Demisexual, etc. might need to build their own communities within the larger LGBTQ+ umbrella and push for further representation.
LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0: A Celebratory Collection of LGBTQ+ Narratives is an open, honest depiction of life from the point of view of people who are part of its community. No matter your identity, you are bound to find bits and pieces of your own experiences within these pages and will discover that everyone deserves community and love.
This book will help you ask and answer these questions:
- How do I figure out if I might be LGBTQ+?
- How do I support my LGBTQ+ child?
- How do I find LGBTQ+ people?
- How do I build community?
If you are wanting to figure out where you fit inside of the LGBTQ+ community or if you just want to learn about allyship and celebratory self-acceptance, LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0 is for you. It brings spectrums of sexuality, gender, and romance together in one collection.
Proudly’s audience may not need answers to all of these questions, but will likely find warmth in both their similarities and differences with the interviewees. It’s exhausting to tell one’s own story over and over again, particularly when trying to prove that one belongs in a community. This book serves as a tool to enhance these conversations and take some of that pressure off of the reader, enabling them to be both a better self-advocate and ally in the future.
“Compassionate & Compelling
This book aims to educate and enlighten readers on every page. It is equal parts captivating and informative. A must read for all allies, members of this community, and more!”Andrew Adeniyi on Goodreads
